“HydX has the brain power & muscles” – this phrase was coined by our sales engineers. With us, you get the hydraulics, control system and radio control from a single partner – a partner who understands your entire machine. Nowadays, there are control systems in virtually all HydX applications, regardless of whether they are mobile, marine or industrial systems.
Today, a control system is necessary in order to fully optimize a machine’s performance. Before the introduction of electronics in the world of hydraulics, it could be said that the operator was actually the control system. At that time, it was the operator who absorbed all the impressions by listening, feeling and looking and then learning to maneuver according to the impressions. Now, our computer records all the impressions we have programmed it to record, and then regulates critical functions in an optimal way – far faster and more efficiently than the human brain can do it. The control system is vital in converting the operator’s intentions into action.
HydX engineers talk about brain power as the control system, or the electronics, in which we program and decide how the machine is to work. That is where we can fine-tune and adjust the machine’s various functions and decide on the features of the connection between machine and operator. There may be a display for clarifying information, a joystick for controlling the machine and so on. In the “brain system” there are also sensors that can identify how the machine feels in terms of pressure, temperature and flow. The muscles are the hydraulic components that the brain controls – pumps, valves, motors and cylinders. It is these components that carry out the work and ensure the machine does its particular job. Hoses and connections are the application’s veins, transporting the oil to and from all functions.
HydX has considerable expertise covering the various parts of a complete machine system; not only hydraulics, control system and radio control. When we design a system for a mobile machine, we not only place great emphasis on optimizing functions, but also on the machine being easy to use, maintain and troubleshoot. The best results will be achieved if we can get involved early in the process and influence the machine’s capabilities.
