Ten years ago, HydX was one of Rolba’s suppliers. Today, the company is a valued engineering partner, contributing advanced technical know-how, system development, and invaluable industry expertise. “It feels like having the expertise in-house—always quick to respond, always on time, and always the first to bring us the latest industry insights,” says Joacim Altberg, R&D Team Leader at Rolba Svenska AB.
The collaboration between HydX and Rolba began in the mid-2010s with the supply of hydraulic valve blocks. Over the years, the partnership has evolved significantly, with HydX now playing an integral role in product development and system design. “At the time, we struggled with delayed deliveries and lack of communication from our suppliers. Since our collaboration with HydX was already productive, it naturally progressed,” Joacim explains. “I used to see external expertise as a risk—but not in this case. The cooperation works flawlessly.”
Joacim emphasizes that fast response times, close collaboration, and the high-level technical competence of HydX staff have become vital to Rolba’s operations and product development. HydX and Rolba have co-developed a control system tailored to various vehicle models and application scenarios. The new control platform enables streamlined installation processes and increased system flexibility. For the end user, it offers a more intuitive interface and maximum operational reliability in demanding environments. “Other suppliers might deliver similar components, but HydX provides a complete package—engineering expertise, consistent quality, and reliable service—at a very competitive price point,” says Joacim Altberg.
Rolba Svenska AB is a market-leading manufacturer of truck-mounted equipment for wet suction applications, both conventional and ADR-certified, often combined with dewatering systems and high-pressure flushing. Founded in 1962, the company originally sold ice resurfacing machines. Rolba is headquartered in Hedesunda, in the Gästrikland region of Sweden. Just over 50 years ago, it developed and delivered its first sludge vacuum truck. During the 1990s, the company streamlined its operations to focus on vacuum systems, and since December 2020, it has been part of Disab Vacuum Technology. “We pride ourselves on delivering high quality and expect the same from our partners,” says Erik Västerbo, Mechanical Engineer at Rolba. “Working with HydX is always smooth. Even though their programmers have only visited our facility once or twice, they have an in-depth understanding of our systems and challenges. They know our products well. We’re often in daily contact, and we can always rely on them to get back to us as promised—we’re never left without support.” Rolba also values HydX’s proactive approach and deep understanding of their equipment, which allows them to quickly assess the relevance of new technologies and provide timely suggestions that align with Rolba’s development goals. “We can tell HydX genuinely prioritizes our business—and they have the competence to act accordingly,” Erik adds. “When a new product comes along that could fill a gap in our lineup, HydX is quick to present a well-thought-out solution. We know they’re keeping our best interests in mind.”
