Sustainability at every stage and part of our business

HydX's work for sustainable development is an integral part of our strategy, our culture and our everyday life. We take responsibility throughout the value chain, from supplier selection and our own processes to the solutions we deliver and the social benefits our customers create. We know that the future requires more than words. That's why we set high standards - for ourselves, for our partners and for the technology we develop.

Our suppliers and components are selected with care and always in accordance with our Supplier Code of Conduct. The solutions we deliver must be at the forefront of technology, focusing on resource efficiency, sustainability and business value. But the responsibility does not stop with us. Many of our customers develop applications that are crucial to the green transition. By working with the entire value chain - upstream and downstream - we contribute to real and long-term change.

We invest for the future

Since 2024, we have been working in our newly built, environmentally certified premises. The building is certified according to Miljöbyggnad Silver and designed with a focus on energy efficiency, a healthy indoor environment and environmentally smart material choices. We use only green electricity and fossil-free district heating, and by choosing recycled furnishings, we reduced our carbon footprint by over 24 tonnes of CO₂.

Strategic work on the UN Global Goals

The United Nations Sustainable Development Goals guide our sustainability efforts. The goals are an integral part of our business strategy and guide everything from investments to the development of next-generation technology solutions. All of the UN goals are important and relevant to our business, but we are currently focusing on four goals where we can make the most significant difference. The goals are not chosen because they are easy, but because they require commitment, innovation and results.

Sustainable energy for all

We only use green energy, both electricity and district heating. Our company vehicles are powered by renewable energy, and we have invested in charging infrastructure to facilitate the transition for our staff.

Resource efficiency is a key requirement in all solutions, and today most of the solutions we develop are wholly or partly electric. With our expertise and innovation capacity, we help our customers achieve their sustainability goals.

Sustainable industry, innovation and infrastructure
HydX actively contributes to a more sustainable industry by creating innovative and resource-efficient solutions, regardless of application. In our work, we take into account the entire product life cycle, where minimised resource consumption and recycling opportunities are central.

We have developed several climate-smart infrastructure solutions that support the transition of critical societal functions. With our expertise in electronics, we can integrate operational data into our solutions to optimise performance based on climate impact, energy efficiency and maintenance needs, creating long-term business value for our customers.

Sustainable consumption and production

In 2024, we moved into our new, environmentally certified premises. The furnishings we chose are recycled, which saved over 24 tonnes of CO₂

Continuous improvement is at the centre of our way of working and is part of every employee's daily work. We are certified according to ISO14001, which means, among other things, that we safely handle hazardous waste and chemicals.


We only work with suppliers who comply with our Supplier Code of Conduct, and we prioritise local and regional operators who share our vision of sustainable working practices and circular flows.

Fighting climate change

We are dedicated and systematically working to reduce our climate impact. By developing customised solutions, we can optimise resource utilisation based on the unique conditions and requirements. The solutions we create today are often fully or partially electric. In partnership with our sister company ETP, we can offer market-leading expertise in the electrification of mobile applications.

Results and measurability at the centre of our sustainability work

For us at HydX, responsibility is more than a value; it is a driving force. We are goal-driven in everything we do, and currently, we are working on developing the measurability of our sustainability work. Ensuring that the activities we carry out actually make a real difference is essential – and equally crucial for our customers, who are faced with ever-higher demands and an increased expectation of transparency.

Sustainability is more than the environment

Sustainable development also involves people. We work actively on skills development, equality and a long-term human resources strategy where every employee, regardless of role, has a development plan. We collaborate with technical high schools, universities and colleges, and contribute to knowledge development in the industry.

We create a safe and inclusive workplace through salary surveys, equal treatment policies and systematic work environment management. We always ensure that our resources are sufficient for the work to be done, and we believe in long-term relationships based on respect and responsibility.

A strong social commitment to the future

HydX actively supports children and young people through partnerships with local sports clubs, non-profit organisations and educational initiatives. Each year, resources are allocated to contribute to initiatives that make a real difference, from fighting diseases such as diabetes and cancer to creating memorable holidays for economically disadvantaged children.

We also support the fourth technical year, T4, at Ystad Gymnasium (Upper Secondary School), providing young people who are motivated to study with better educational opportunities, as well as several associations that offer meaningful leisure time. For us, children are the future - and we take our responsibility seriously.
