County Governor Visits HydX in Ystad – A Discussion on the Future and the Green Transition

Hydx Anneli Hulthen Lager

We at HydX are proud and pleased to have welcomed County Governor Anneli Hulthén, along with a delegation from the County Administrative Board and Ystad Municipality, to our new environmentally certified facilities.

"It was an exciting and pleasant visit where we had the opportunity to showcase our operations and discuss how legislation can help accelerate the pace of the green transition," says CEO Mikael Andersson.

Four months after moving into the new, modern premises in Ystad, HydX had the honour of welcoming County Governor Anneli Hulthén as part of her company visits. Also present were representatives from Ystad Municipality, including Municipal Commissioner Paula Nilsson (Moderate Party), Kevin Rasmussen (Social Democrats), the opposition commissioner, and members of the municipal executive administration.

The visitors were given a close-up experience of the 4,400 square meter facility, including the office spaces furnished with reused furniture, the production area featuring dedicated zones for the Nordic region’s first Parker Certified Mobile Electrification Centre, and the two PVG and HIC Build Centres for Danfoss Power Solutions located in the new premises.

The guests also visited the warehouse, where three new automated storage systems have been installed to streamline operations, save floor space, and improve the working environment.

"We had a fascinating company visit at HydX, which, with its smart and sustainable solutions, truly contributes to society's green transition", says County Governor Anneli Hulthén.

The delegation also had the opportunity to speak with employees and learn more about HydX's community engagement, sustainability initiatives, and strategies for securing future talent. The company also shared its perspective on how a high-tech growth company based outside of major metropolitan areas must plan and act to meet future competence demands.

"It was fun and interesting to hear how HydX collaborates with local high school technology programs, as well as electrical and energy programs—something that benefits everyone involved," says the County Governor.

The technology company HydX was founded 16 years ago and currently employs 70 people across four locations in Sweden. Since its founding in 2009, the headquarters—with production and warehouse—has been located in Ystad. In 2023, the company had a turnover of SEK 312 million, and it aims to double that within five years. During the same period, the company expects to hire an additional 20 employees.

"It was a delightful visit with engaging questions, where we had the chance to present what we are passionate about—knowledge, sustainability, and the high-tech green transition that we are actively part of," says COO Mattias Salomonsson.

"It's also valuable to have the opportunity to raise the kinds of issues and challenges we deal with daily and to discuss how legislation can help push the green transition forward and make room for battery-powered solutions and exciting innovations."
