A partnership in harsh environments
The combination of knowledge, customisation, design, manufacturing and materials makes HydX a perfect partner for shipbuilder Swede Ship Marine.
They operate in a challenging environment where the demands are incredibly high – something that HydX has faced for more than a decade. Through responsiveness and technical breadth, the collaboration has developed into a close partnership.
Together, solutions are created that can withstand both the stresses of the sea and the demands of the future.
Setting high standards for our partners
Swede Ship Marine has been building ships for over 130 years. For more than 50 years, they have been an essential supplier to SSRS and the Swedish defence, and their vessels have become an integral part of Sweden's naval infrastructure.
The vessels operate in some of the world's most challenging waters – from the Barents Sea and the North Sea to changing weather conditions along the entire Swedish coast. They have to cope with significant temperature differences between summer and winter, while maintaining the highest possible operational safety, whether the mission is civilian or military.
To meet these requirements, Swede Ship Marine has its own design department for the development and customisation of vessels, which in turn places high demands on their partners.
"Our development department sets high standards for our suppliers – and HydX lives up to them. Even in challenging projects, they are responsive and adapt the solutions to our needs. They fulfil our high demands on design, manufacturing and choice of materials,' says Björn Henriksson, at Swede Ship Marine.
At HydX, we take it for granted to deliver solutions that work – even under the most challenging conditions.
High demands on hydraulics in harsh marine environments
Swede Ship Marine manufactures boats, ferries and ships for the navy, sea rescue and commercial operators. The vessels operate in both salt and brackish water, which places extremely high demands on both construction and choice of materials.
HydX not only supplies hydraulic components such as pumps, valve blocks and control systems, but also customised solutions with in-house design and manufacturing. The marine environment requires materials that are corrosion-resistant, lightweight, and durable, adapted for fast, high-performance vessels.
The collaboration covers everything from technical advice and customised design to the delivery of complete hydraulic systems, developed to meet the rigours of the sea.
