Hydraulics are central to forestry machines. They have to cope with extreme demands: high speed, fine motorisation, and heavy loads, all in a compact and cramped machine space. To keep weight, size and fuel consumption down, high pressures are used, allowing for smaller and more efficient components – which in turn requires clever system design and a deep understanding of how pressure, flow and function are linked.

Autonomous machinery refers to a machine that can perform certain operations without the active control of an operator. In agriculture, this often involves machines for harvesting, sowing, or tillage that handle propulsion, steering, and work functions themselves.
